Build a Bike Day
Due to limited resources in terms of limited resources, bikes, volunteers and times we are cutting back our Build-A-Bike times. We are going to only be doing Build-a-Bike only once a month on the First Thursday from 3 to 7. We will only be doing Build-A-Bike and won't be doing an repairs on this day. All other Thursdays and Fridays will be for repairs only. Build-a-bike will still function on a lottery system at 3 o'clock.
If you are able to get a bike (no matter how busted) anywhere else and bring it in to work on it, you can bring it to Fix A Bike hours and often that is an easier process at Derailer. We also please ask you to keep in mind that we have VERY limited resources; if you are able to get a used bike we ask that you look into it to save our resources for those folks who may not have their own.

That's too bad. This was one of the things that made going to the tool store a little fun. It's a very different feeling to be riding around on something you built.
ReplyDeleteThere are programs like this in our area too, and to be honest I've never participated in one before. Though I'm looking into fitting it into my schedule to get those tools working.
