Volunteer Process
If you are interested in volunteering at Derailer as a mechanic, the very first thing to do is come down to the shop when we are open. Get a sense of how things work, talk to people in the shop, take a look around. If you are still interested in volunteering after seeing how crazy everything is, then ask a volunteer how to get involved.
Help Day
Another way to get involved in Derailer with less time commitment and fewer crowds is to attend a Help Day. Help Days are every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month. We sort donations, strip scrap bikes, clean, organize, and work on projects. Drop by anytime from 1-4pm at the shop. Help Days are a great way to familiarize yourself with the space, get to know some volunteers and learn bike mechanics.
